York Regional Forest Trails

Overview

The Whitchurch-Stouffville region is endowed with large expanses of greenspace, and none is more prominent than the York Regional Forest. In terms of recreation opportunities there are 12 Tracts of the forest within the region. They offer varied activities including walking/hiking, dog walking, bird watching, horseback riding, bicycling, mountain biking  and snowshoeing. Each trail is unique and is open to the public, free of charge, 365 days a year. It is great fun for the family whether on a brisk spring walk, a hot summer day, amongst autumn leaves or in winter snow. Three of the trails are also Wheelchair Accessible. Please abide by the rules posted to keep the forest clean, safe, and sustainable for everyone. Monthly guided forest walks are available to become more aware about the flora and fauna of the trails. There is also  the Bill Fisch Forest Stewardship and Education Centre at the Hollidge Tract . For more information and maps of the tracts consult the Everyday Guide to the York Regional Forest
