Whitchurch Conservation Area

Overview

Situated on the northern edge of the Oak Ridges Moraine, this 11-hectare, wooded conservation area provides numerous shady trails for hiking. It is adjacent to the Robinson Tract of the York Regional Forest and provides access to those trails as well. For a family outing, there is much to see inside the forest and along the trail. Besides several bird species, there is a pond which in the Spring brings out the shrill calls of frogs. If you are lucky, you might spot an oriole, a grouse or even a pheasant. There is a picnic pavilion area to stop and rest or to have a snack or some lunch. Bring your camera as there will lots of beautiful vistas as you traverse the winding trail.
